Code of Conduct

The Kokoda Track Authority (KTA) released the voluntary Code of Conduct in 2009, to encourage Kokoda Track tour operators to protect the Kokoda environment, culture and people.

The Commercial Tourism Licence works in conjunction with the voluntary Code of Conduct . This code was released by the KTA and Kokoda trek operators in July 2009 to set guidelines on operating standards for tour operations along the track.

The Commercial Tourism Licence is intended to set minimum standards. Higher standards will be promoted through the Code of Conduct and Certification programmes.
