Kokoda Track Trek Permits must be purchased by all trekkers visiting the Kokoda Track, whether you are undertaking an independent trek or a trek with an organised tour. When you trek with an organised tour, the tour company should include the permit costs in the total cost of the trek and purchase them on behalf of the trekker. Kokoda Track Trek Permit fees are as follows:
International Trekkers
- K350 per adult trekker
- K175 per student / child trekker
- K2000 fixed fee per charity-fundraiser trek*
PNG Residents and Citizens
- K175 per adult trekker
- K87.50 per student / child trekker
- K1000 fixed fee per charity-fundraiser trek*
[*Each person in a charity-fundraiser trek is required to also pay the normal trekker permit fee]
