Buna Treks and Tours is 100% PNG (Oro Kaiva) owned business set up more than five years ago, and is appropriately registered with legal entities in PNG to operate as a tour company, we are also a registered Kokoda Track Licensed operator providing trekking tours on the Kokoda Track.

The Kokoda Track holds an extremely important place in Australia’s history. So join with other women adventurers to remember and respect the soldiers who went to war. From July 1942, the route over the Owen Stanley Range witnessed the battle hardened Japanese war machine, encounter young, unprepared, untrained, unproven and hopelessly outnumbered Australian soldiers.

Walking the Kokoda track has become an important experience for every Australian. The physical and mental challenges of the Track, including an understanding of the courage and sacrifice shown by Australia’s diggers, offer a life-changing experience for every trekker.

When Vietnam Veteran Merv Hains first walked the Kokoda Track in September 2005, it was the beginning of the Kokoda Track Experience. Merv has since completed 20 trips over the Track and returns regularly to walk alongside trekkers young and old.
